Andy Cusack – General Manager
Andy Cusack has been involved in the forest industry since 1972 and employed with L.I.T.A. from 1979. While Andy’s main role these days is the management and administration of the organisation, he has extensive training experience in the harvesting sector particularly in the field of chainsaws.
Andy maintains the framework for the registration as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and has continued to maintain a profile in the development of national competencies and training products.
Sandra Barnes – Operations Manager
Sandra Barnes commenced employment with L.I.T.A. in 2005. She has a great deal of experience in office management, bookkeeping, receptionist, and general office duties.
She is the voice on the phone when you call L.I.TA. with enquiries and course bookings.
Sandra co-ordinates the running of courses at various locations and will endeavour to choose the course and date most convenient to you, according to your needs and availability.

Alan McKelvie – Forest Machine Instructor/Assessor
Alan McKelvie had been employed in the Forest Industries for a period of 22 years as a forest machine operator in the South East of South Australia, Western Victoria and the Blue Mountains. Alan mainly operated a Forwarder but has also operated a Skidder as well as a variety of other forest machines.
Alan joined the L.I.T.A. team on 6 months work experience program and in Aug 2010 was employed full time as a Forest Machine Operator Trainer/Assessor. Alan’s role is to train and assess employees/trainees working in the forest industries.
As part of his job role he conducts Exhaust Temperature Testing, Risk Assessments of forest machines and has facilitated 5 week Forest Machine Operator Training programs aimed at people who are seeking employment in the industry.
Alan has also been involved with the development of Training Learner Guides for forest machine operators entering the industry.
Peter Sims – Instructor/Assessor
Peter Sims commenced employment with L.I.T.A in August 2011. He has been associated with the heavy vehicle industry for most of his life through driving and owning his own transport business.
Peter is accredited to train and assess in Forklift, Fatigue Management, Defensive Driving and conducts Training in Lieu of Experience (T.I.L.E) courses for the organisation.
