Since acquiring the Timberjack Harvester Simulator at the beginning of 2002, it has been utilised as part of the training and preparation of many operators who are either entry-level or those who are multi-skilling within our local timber harvesting industry.
Utilising the Timberjack Harvester Simulator as training tool for new operators, or those wishing to multi-skill, removes the risk of machine and tree damage or operator injury during the early stages of training. This leaves the operator free to concentrate on the controls of the machine, significantly increasing the speed at which the operator gains confidence to operate the crane and associated functions of the simulator efficiently.
L.I.T.A. has also used the Harvester Simulator to increase the awareness of applicants from L.I.T.A. Recruitment who are interested in gaining employment in the harvesting sector.
